Originally from the Australian island state of Tasmania, Sean was brought up with a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and a particular zest for the coast, so it’s no surprise that Sean Spent the last 30 years travelling the world documenting numerous locations for magazines in several countries. During this time, he managed to snag the cover of more than 140 issues as well as a string of prestigious photo awards along the way. Sean is living in Hawaii today, printing his own giant canvas and prints for collectors, worldwide. He enjoys a strong following particularly for his art water photography and is currently curating his “Shadowland Project” a collection of silhouetted and shadowed images, largely inspired by the likes of Aussie beach photography Legend; Max Dupain and American Peter Turner, both famed for their use of shadows and silhouettes. Sean supports several environmental groups such as Patagonia, Surfrider, and Save the Waves, but the one underlying concern that Sean has on the environment is to rid our oceans of plastics. Sean has seen it first hand, travelling to some of the world’s most remote coastlines, only to see plastics all along the shoreline. Sean supports any cause that can lend a hand in ending this huge environmental concern.
Sean served on the judging panel of a last year’s International Epson Pano Awards and is thrilled to lend his creative skills to help in judging the prestigious Px3 Prix de la Photographie.
