It was such an exciting time from 2024 to 2026 when the magnetic fields were strong enough for the distinctly colourful pink and yellow/green coloured Aurora Australis to touch the coast of Flinders, just south of Melbourne, where it reflected up a trickle of water at low tide. It had become visible to the naked eye for the first time in 20 years. The Aurora Australis is far more elusive than its northern counterpart, only occasionally spotted from the southern coasts of Australia and New Zealand, South America and the inhospitable Antarctica, but not often seen with the naked eye.

I grew up on a farm in Australia, where I often witnessed the power of nature, both the good and the bad. I sometimes had mixed feelings that nature could be both beautiful and brutal at the same time, but it always left me in awe.
I then came to Melbourne where I worked as a designer but was interested in photography from early on, sometimes using it in my work.
When high end digital photography became accessible, my thirst for knowledge and passion grew exponentially and I began to win international awards, becoming obsessed with catching a special moment and bringing it to the world.
