Inspired by Francis Bacon’s Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion, this series reflects on the suffering that repeats through war and human desire. The distorted bodies evoke not only physical pain but the enduring violence within us. Drawing on the Buddhist Four Noble Truths—Dukkha and Samudaya—the images visualize cycles of suffering born from attachment and illusion. These figures, ritualized and suspended, do not offer salvation, but confront us with the question: Can we ever escape this endless repetition?
