home

"home" is a series of self portraits, taken in different areas of the same house. The images capture the intimacy and complexity of domestic spaces, turning everyday scenes into narrative works, that invite the viewer to reflect on the universal yet deeply personal significance of home. Each image echoes themes of loneliness, intimacy and memory, evoking feelings related to presence and absence. In addition, the images capture the connection and symbolism surrounding women’s role in society, emphasizing her strong presence, resilience and the complexity of her identity in the domestic space

Nicki Panou is a self-taught photographer and digital artist based in Thessaloniki, Greece. With a background in applied informatics and a master’s degree in graphic arts and multimedia, she also studied acting at the “Parathlasi” theater workshop.

Active in photography since 2013, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Her work has earned international recognition, most notably the 1st Prize in the Self-Portrait category at the 24th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards (2024).
