Terra Mater

The scenes shown in the photos look more like another planet than our Earth. The photos are taken over artificial, industrial lakes so-called ash ponds. These ashes are a by-product created during the combustion of coal in coal-fired power plants. The ashes are mixed with water and stored in ash ponds also called coal ash basins. Apart from the ecological aspect, looking only from the aesthetic point of view, surfaces with interesting patterned structures and lakes with beautiful colors are created.
