FEDERN - Meisterstücke der Evolution
This photo book celebrates bird feathers, the most complex yet poetic masterpieces of evolution. They are extravagance in color, shape, structure, and function. People are subject to their attraction, far beyond the natural sciences. Feathers have an almost sacred meaning.
The photographs present feathers as a sensual experience. They are an encounter with the irresistibly beautiful in nature.
Feathers reveal to us the essence of evolution. It plays with the possibilities; it is capricious and unpredictable in its processes. It can try anything. Magnificence is also in its repertoire.
The husband-and-wife team Heidi & Hans-Jürgen Koch began their joint expedition into the world of professional photography over 30 years ago.
