The Inota thermoelectric power plant was one of the largest industrial investments in Hungary in the 1950s. The thermal power plant operated for 50 years and was closed and decommissioned in 2001. The state of the plant has deteriorated over the past 22 years, but several films have been shot in the dilapidated buildings. The power plant was also the location for some scenes of the film "Blade Hunter 2049".
