Brooklyn Bridge Unveiled

Early in the morning, before the usual hustle and bustle begins, the Brooklyn Bridge transforms into a peaceful retreat, bathed in the gentle glow of sunrise. As I stood there, the bridge's architectural details—the intricate cables and grand arches—were highlighted beautifully by the morning light. In the distance, the silhouette of the Freedom Tower rose majestically, framing the perfect urban skyline. This quiet moment offered a rare opportunity to enjoy the city’s calmness and appreciate the stunning interplay of history and modernity that defines New York.

I’m Jan-Tore Oevrevik, often known as JT, a Norwegian-American photographer. My journey began in 1998 in a makeshift darkroom in my bathroom, sparked by a local photography course. That initial foray into film development opened a door to the exhilarating world of photography that I had never imagined before! I am passionate about capturing the breathtaking beauty of landscapes, the vibrant life of cities, and the untamed spirit of wildlife around the globe. My images serve as open doors, inviting viewers to step into captivating worlds and discover scenes that ignite the spirit of adventure.

Awards My photographic endeavors have earned me over 180 international awards, including Bronze and Silver from the Epson International Pano Awards, a Bronze from the Fine Art Photography Awards, multiple Silver, Gold, and Platinum honors, "Discovery of the Year" from reFocus, the Category Winner of the Year Award from the London Photography Awards, double Category Winner of the Year from the Global Photography Awards, and the title of "Best Artist Fall 2022" by Photoserge Academy.

My work has been exhibited in esteemed galleries such as Valid World Hall Gallery in Barcelona, Galerie Gora in Montreal, Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, and Glasgow Gallery of Photography. It has also appeared in leading publications like Dodho, Digital Photographer Magazine, NOIR International Photo Magazine, UCP Magazine, and Digital Camera World, sharing our visual journeys with a global audience. One of the latest articles of me was published by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in their December 2024 issue, with title Emarald Skies: Chasing the Aurora Borealis, highlighting its industry recognition. My artistic insights and journey were also spotlighted in an interview with OrlandoVoyager in November 2024, which celebrates the extraordinary stories of local artists and creatives.

As I continue to explore the art of photography, I am dedicated to capturing and sharing the profound and beautiful narratives of the world, one frame at a time.
