Semana Santa is the biggest annual festivals in Seville,Spain.It is celebrated in the week leading up to Easter and features the procession of pasos,(floats of lifelike wooden sculptures).Some of the sculptures are of great antiquity,considered artistic masterpieces, and hold cultural and spiritual significance for the local Catholic population.
In order to photograph this year’s Semana Santa,I spent ten days in Seville.Taking photos was a real struggle.The rain throughout the week caused many processions to be cancelled.Walking on the streets was very challenging due to overcrowding.
I was born in Izmir,Turkey in 1962 and since then,I am still living in Izmir. I studied Textile engineering and also had master of Science degree in same field in Aegean University ,Izmir between 1979-1986.Since then I worked in garment production sector in Turkey and also internationally .beside my work ,travelling and photography became my most important hobbies for years and still they are
