In Taiwan, the presidential election that was held in January used to become a factor in the conflicts between China and Taiwan as an international issue, which also influenced the Taiwanese over the next 4 years.

3 candidates as known as Lai Ching-te, Hou Yu-ih, and Ko Wen-je, Lai is considered Taiwan-oriented, which means for China, he insists on the independence of TW.

Meanwhile, Hou and Ko, as were considered as pro-Beijing candidates. Once had an agreement that they would be participants as a team, but the consensus was a failure and Lai eventually won the election.
