I captured the Needle, standing tall and rugged, nestled in the dramatic landscape of the Isle of Skye. The towering rock formation pierces the sky, with ominous clouds swirling above, adding to its mystique. The lush, green terrain below contrasts sharply with the dark, jagged rocks, creating a striking visual. The scene feels otherworldly, as if plucked from a fantasy novel. The winding path leads the eye through the image, inviting exploration of this wild, untamed place.
Matthew Wilkinson is an engineer who works across the UK. As he travels he spends his time photographing the Landscape. His Love for Photography started with 1 session a week whilst in college. After college Matthew when on to shoot 5x4 film for a few years then moved to 35mm full-frame in recent years. Matthew has developed a love for expression and strives to take steps away from reality with various processes & techniques and create more abstract images to provoke thought and emotion from the viewer. This approach to his art enables him to further express himself and tell deeper stories.
