I had been living in Thailand for ten years due to my husband's work. While not unhappy, there was peer pressure within the small Japanese community to conform. The language barrier and being a foreigner made me feel like I was in a glass box. Bangkok and I had changed since I started photography four years ago, which helped me break free. At a zoo on top of a department store, I stood before a fox's enclosure. Amidst tropical bird sounds, a fox stared blankly at me through thick glass, reminding me of myself ten years ago. I loved the person I was back then, despite the pain.
