I photographed Warsaw for three years. I came here whenever I could find a couple of hours in the day.
The city is uncontrollable, enormous. I have control over practically nothing. Yet I'm not overwhelmed by that fact. It elicits a feeling of freedom.
A journey through the city reveals its variety, its little universes with no common parts. The city space is mainly streets, and I am strangely connected with this space and everything that happens in it.
I experience everything. Besides photography, it is the next most important thing happening to me.
I am grateful for those experiences.
Independent documentary and portrait photographer. He studied photography at European Academy of Photography in Warsaw. He participated in numerous workshops, e.g. Transmission pour l’Image in Perpignan, France.
Arkadiusz works mostly on long term projects dealing with social issues.
