China is a country with a relatively introverted national character that does not focus on individual independent self-expression.
From the early 80s to the beginning of the 21st century, China also saw a boom in rock music. It played a huge role in enlightening the Chinese people to new ideas.
During the decade 2008-2018, I have photographed the lives, rehearsals and performances of many Chinese rock musicians.
In today's China, people are no longer concerned with self-expression.
So the rock culture that once existed in China is fading away.
I took these photos as a kind of farewell.
