Spirit of the Earth: The Mundari

The semi-nomadic Mundari tribe of South Sudan are a spiritual people who believe their connection with the gods is divined through their cattle. With dramatic, towering horns that adorn their heads like crowns, it is easy to see why these animals command reverence and are often called the cattle of kings. In these images, stunningly dramatic scenes of life among the Mundari are revealed, sharing a powerful community in sync with Mother Earth’s heartbeat.
