The people of northern Kenya after 8 years of drought

The tribes of northern Kenya - the Pokot, the Samburu, the Gabbra and the Turkana among others - have had to change their entire nature, their way of living and even how their societies function as a result of a drought which has lasted for the past 8 years. With almost the entire north of the country experiencing no rain, tribal groups traditionally nomadic and relying on rearing their flock have shifted towards permanent settlements, to completely different ways of living and being, leading to fundamental shifts in their very culture, jeopardising their very future and their patrimonium
