There are more than 2,000 species of fireflies in the world, and there are about 60 species of fireflies in Taiwan. Every year from late March to June is the peak season of fireflies, which is the season with the largest number. They will appear in large numbers after the sun goes down in the evening until the next day before dawn. Lush forests, clear water, and no light pollution are suitable for the growth, reproduction, and haunting of fireflies.
