Once a year the streets of Bolsena (Tuscia, Italy) become covered with flowers. The streets tell stories woven of of dreams. The preparations start long before this day. Time is suspended while the town is transformed in a different place. At night all the petals that were so carefully laid down, disappear like those in dreams, but their memory remains.
Margrieta was born under Northern skies, in the Netherlands.
Her work embraces poetry, sculpture, but her main creative outlet is photography since her father showed her how to print in his self made darkroom in the attic of their house.
She uses analogue cameras (from 35mm to whole plate).
She makes silver-gelatin (contact) prints, albumen prints and various experimental prints, as well as hand-colored ones.
She lives and works in Bolsena (Tuscia), Italy
