This shot depicts the backstage of architectural construction, the aspect of architecture which is less known to its occupants. Site workers make their way around scaffolding like it's second nature to them. In what I would qualify as “vertical living”, they create a particular relationship to the object they are building: not only do they know it quite intimately and in all dimensions, but their work space also becomes their living space, merging work hours with daily life. It is their shelter for the time of the project's making.
