Fury

On Day 3 of George Floyd's murder, unknown demonstrators burned this car in front of the Minneapolis 3rd Precint police station on Lake Street, abandoned a day earlier. This young man was flashing gang's sign and posing for a photograph. That night the mob forced their way into the station and burned it down.

Street Photography: USA & World

Street photography, at its best, captures what Henri Cartier-Bresson calls the “decisive moment.” In it time and space are fixated by the artist; the image is composed instantaneously, and a story is told. What is beloved is the candidness of the subject, the rawness of the image, and the subtlety of the storytelling. Out of chaos is born meaning. As I travel throughout the US and the world, I let the multifarious fragments of life catch my camera like migrating birds coming home to roost.
