It was a beautiful day with clear skies and the trees ready to turn into their autumn colors here in the far north. I went to photograph the road leading here with my drone. Happy with the photos I was heading home. While walking, I read the big news headlines on my phone: "The London Bridge has fallen." With head full of thoughts I kept walking. When arriving home I saw the aurora activity was high, so I swapped my drone for the camera and headed to the nearby cahkal waterfall where I witnessed some of the most impressive northern lights I had ever seen.
I am a 28 year old photographer from Finland with a passion for the night skies and the polar regions. I choose to live in the small isolated communities in the arctic such as Greenland where I can fulfill my hobbies and explore the local culture.
