The shapes and textures of Joshua Tree National Park are immediately recognizable and emphasized when captured in black and white. Photographed at or shortly after sunrise to silhouette and portray the contrast between light and shadow in as near to a chiaroscuro style as I can deliver at this point in my photography career. This treasured National Park in southern California is at the intersection of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts and is a favorite location of landscape photographers.
