Zanskar, one of the remotest valleys in the world, is cut off from the rest of the world for sis months every year. The only way out, and in, is by an an eleven-day journey over the frozen Zanskar River.

The cold bites, the sun burns, and help doesn't even feature in dreams. The only antidote to all the hardship this community's stoic resilience, an innate understanding of their environment, knowledge that the season will mellow and that smiles are capable of radiating much-needed warmth.
