The tall woman with the white hair, was the first to draw my attention, and then the long haired younger one. They turned out to be mother and daughter. I found them incredibly impressive and asked to photograph them.
During the session I was thinking about tough gang photographs, and also wet plate portraits from the 19th century.
Eventually the result, of course, is different from these two, and this is the magic of photography.
