After that terrible night when her husband attacked her with acid, despite the pain and psychological distress caused by anxiety about her appearance, Nilima was able to overcome this fear and move on with her life. She remained strong and found the courage to reclaim her life. After long years of treatment, she made the decision to become a nurse to take care of new patients who, like her, are victims of acid attacks. Today Nilima can stand proudly. Her strength and resilience is a source of inspiration for all the victims of all forms of violence.
