Both the title and the photos of this series should provoke the question whether it is our Earth or some other planet? If Earth, then what about ecology and the future? The presented photos have been taken over artificial industrial lakes - ash ponds, also called coal ash basins in Europe, but you can find similar places in many countries of the world. This series of aerial photos is still being continued. Apart of ecological matters, focusing solely on aesthetics, these fancy patterns full of fantastic colors, only visible from above, were great visual treasures for us as photographers.
We are Barbara and Maciej Noskowski, a husband and wife team of award-winning photographers, visual artists and travellers. As a "flying couple" we have many years of experience in aerial photography, taken from various aircrafts and drones. As world travellers we visited over 60 countries and 16 states in the USA. Our photos were published among others in National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, Lonely Planet, Condé Nast Traveller, Vogue, Bloomberg, The Guardian. We are the authors of the cover photos of many books by famous authors such as Zoe Valdez, or Olga Tokarczuk - Nobel Prize winner (2019).
