When the war started, only refugees from other regions of Ukraine were accommodating in the hotel. The man in charge, Maks, the man in charge, stayed in Odessa so the hotel could be home to displaced of war. Some workers and a few friends moved with him to the room 304. Air-ride sirens sound every now and then, barricades and kalashnikovs on the streets. First days of March were the most intense and scary in Odessa since WW2. When the city was on the edge, a group of Odessian stayed, runned a hotel and, above all, enjoyed the craziest days of their lives.
Born in Barcelona in 1982, after graduating in Medicine, I got my life straightened out: I studied Photography at IDEP Barcelona and Communication of Armed Conflicts at Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2017, and combined with my medical work in Barcelona, I have reported (mainly photography, but also text) in Catalonia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Morocco, Spain, Ukraine, Romania and France, focusing (mostly but not only) on political and armed conflicts.
