Head shaving for Thai Buddhist monks is one of the most private moments of their lives which takes place inside the temple.

This ancient practice has been carried out like this for centuries. It is done every month, a day before the full moon, because it's believed that Buddha was born on a full moon day.

With a simple razor they shave their hair and eyebrows, as a sign of purity and inner cleanliness.
It is also another way for them to exhibit zero vanity in their active social life.
