Scorched Earth

Every summer the sad spectacle of wildfires repeats itself in our planet’s forests, giving way to vast landscapes of desolation. The UN estimates that 350 million hectares of forest burn each year, more than six times the area of France. The frequency and magnitude of these fires have increased over the years, a phenomenon attributed to global warming.

The Mediterranean is no exception. Exploring forests recently destroyed by fires in France, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal, the project draws attention to the consequences of climate change.

All pictures were taken in medium format.
