Berlin is a photographic project deeply personal to photographer Jason Langer. The photographs are the product of a five-year reconciliation of the impressions of the Holocaust seeded when Langer was under 10 years old, growing up on a Kibbutz in Israel. By walking the streets of Berlin as an adult, discovering relics of Nazi Germany, and meeting and photographing German people Langer was able to undo the deep fearful impressions about Germany implanted in his mind while standing in silence each Yom Kippur and hearing about the pain and near annihilation of his ancestors.
