This is a story of kids at play- where they are building their story with time and not just making time for storytelling. Childhood treasure lives in the feet of kids who learn the joys and grief of real life as the days on a farm demand the best of their work, skills, behavior, and human kindness. Treasures of a raw childhood rest in the sharp edges of working toys that prepare a child for the sharp edges of a cutting world. Childhood rests in forts built from twigs and mud and in young hearts that harbor old souls in a place where the family has value- and there is value in dirty bare feet.
