The work expresses the cycle of life, that is, reincarnation. It is composed of a combination of the sea and a certain scenery. Each combination has a leap of light and dark, stillness and movement and so on. It connotes transition of time and space though not shown apparently. So I intend to express the impermanence of all things.
The work is strongly inspired by my father's will to scatter his ashes in the sea. The moment I inserted my palm with his ashes into the waves, they immediately swept the ashes away. At the moment, I realized the sea was both a source of life and a place to return.
