When I was 28, I had an affair with a married man. This was the relationship that marked me the most, the one that made me value myself differently. It’s only now, years later, that I am able to be honest about that relationship and un¬derstand the costs of it.
I wanted to explore the emotional truth of women’s desires in this series. Women’s bodies have been objectified in photography, but more complicated than a simple male gaze, we, women, often sexualize ourselves in our images. I wonder whether we make ourselves one dimensional to hide the reality of our desires and feelings.
