As a child my family would pack into our car to take long trips. My mother would begin a story with a couple of sentences. We would go around and around in the car adding our additions until the story was complete.

In the manner of storytelling, I have combined my photographs to create a backdrop for vintage photographs spinning a tale as I create the montage. Often there is a connection to the the person if I knew them. Otherwise it becomes just a wild tale of my fabrication. It is my way of preserving these images for a bit longer, bringing them back to life in a present day 'car tale'.

Dale Niles is a Georgia based artist who was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She is known for her diverse photographic interpretations from her black/white and color photographs to her montage storytelling collage photographs. She received her BA in sociology from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. Upon graduation she interned as a probation officer but realized this was not her calling. While doing several other vocations she continued her personnel interests which included painting, sculpting and photography, realizing that photography was her art of choice
