Dystopian Dream

I shot these infrared photos (with IR720 filter lens) at Singapore's Jurong Lake Gardens on boxing day, 26 Dec 2019. While the world was celebrating Christmas and unboxing gifts, contributing to the ever increasing ecological impact of consumerism, I was among perceived wilderness in the well groomed Garden City. Singapore was jungles barely decades ago before rapid urbanisation sprouted modern structures everywhere with only these plots of manicured nature left. We need awareness and actions before the irreversible happens, as our population increased and natural resources decreased.

Arts has always been my hobby since young, dabbling with painting, sketching, craft-work and the digital media. I started photography only in recent years and enjoyed exploring various styles, it is a means for me to find a balance presenting both truth and fiction; Conveying the captured moment of the vision in my mind's eyes to the viewer is exhilarating and actually cathartic too. I relish every opportunities to create and produce interesting still and moving images that create a juxtaposition to highlight certain relationships.
