Fight for freedom

More than a million Hong Kong people participated in the anti-extradition law protest since June 9, 2019. Since then Hong Konger continued to fight for freedom and make a stand for more than half a year and it is the largest social event since Hong Kong returned to China.

This series records the moments of the social movement from an individual perspective, sometimes calm and sometimes agitated.

HO Siu Nam (South HO)

Born in 1984, He now focus on Photography and get involved in a little bit of writing as well. He loves discovering various photographic subjects from the society in order to express his viewpoints on existence. South Ho graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2006. He became a established his workshop in 2008. In 2013, he co-founded 100ft. PARK, a non-commercial mini art space dedicated to providing an open platform for exhibiting and sharing art.

Ho was awarded the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards 2009. He was selected as finalist of The Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2011 and as nominee for the Société Générale Chinese Art Awards 2010. His work is collected by the Burger Collection, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Legislative Council of Hong Kong and Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan.
