Fight for freedom

More than a million Hong Kong people participated in the anti-extradition law protest since June 9, 2019. Since then Hong Konger continued to fight for freedom and make a stand for more than half a year and it is the largest social event since Hong Kong returned to China.

This series records the moments of the social movement from an individual perspective, sometimes calm and sometimes agitated.

Ho Siu Nam graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2006. Ho’s artistic practice began with photography and has since evolved to the inclusion of performance, drawing and mixed media installations. His works encompass the wonders and helplessness of living, the spirituality of existence, as well as the socio-political awareness of Hong Kong.

Ho currently lives and works in Hong Kong.His work is collected by the Burger Collection, Hong Kong Heritage Museum (Hong Kong), Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (Japan) and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (USA).
