I spent quite some time waiting for anyone to pass in front of this colourful entrance area in Amsterdam. In the end a dog proved to be just right.

Paul Brouns (1967) is a Dutch artist that lives and works near Amsterdam. In 1990 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg (NL), specialised in painting, drawing and photography. With the advent of digital photography he developed a personal approach to architectural photography.

Rhythm, color and geometry are recurring themes in my photographic work and architecture has proven to be an ideal subject for this. Central in my work is the creation of a feast of dancing shadows, sunlit reflections or colour combinations that hopefully will visually enchant you.
