Desert Song: Compositions of Kenya

In these images, the women of the Rendille tribe appear confident and poised as they stare down their future without hesitation - which is especially admirable given the male-dominated society they were born into. Wearing the jewelry native to their tribal community, they remain a bastion of traditional culture and an emblem of hope in the face of imminent changes to their ancestral heritage. They represent the next generation of women who will set the course for the future of the Rendille.
