This was one of two reef squids that greeted me on my first night dive in Southern Egypt. They dazzled me with their other worldly chromatophores before jetting off in a cloud of ink. I managed to swing my camera round and capture one of them with my 60 mm macro lens just in time. It's times like these where you make the snap judgement of whether its best taking the time to be truly present in the experience with an intelligent creature, or being simply an observer and taking a photograph/video. I like to think I managed both.
