What you see, is who you are
"What you see, is who you are" is the Author's artistic motto and the title of his new hard cover, 350 pages book to be published this year. It is a summary of Brodziak's personal and commercial photographic projects shot over the last 6 years. The book is enhanced with interviews, essays and curators' texts revealing details from Szymon's artistic life, backstage and process of work.
SZYMON BRODZIAK BORN 1979 IN POZNAN, POLAND. SPECIALIZES IN UNCONVENTIONAL BLACK AND WHITE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS WITH PERSONAL APPROACH. THE YOUNGEST PHOTOGRAPHER TO BE EXHIBITED AT THE HELMUT NEWTON FOUNDATION IN BERLIN.
'What you see, is who you are' - says Brodziak, an economy graduate taken over by passion for photography. After quitting family business, he worked in various advertising agencies, assisting in fashion and advertising shootings, which today are his main fields of professional activity. His photographs have been published in numerous fashion and lifestyle magazines, including international edtions of Playboy magazine and Italian Vogue.
Still as a student, Szymon won Johnnie Walker Keep Walking Award for the constant fulfillment of dreams and the passion for setting new paths in the search of beauty. Since then he has obtained many international awards, both for commercial and personal projects, including 3 Gold Medals at 2012 Prix de la Photographie Paris.
During 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Brodziak has been officially acclaimed by FashionTV, the best black&white campaign photographer of the world.
At the end of 2014, Szymon has published his first photo album "BRODZIAK ONE", which presents nearly 300 black and white photographs shot over the period of the last 10 years of Brodziak's professional activity. The book contains a personal dedication from June Newton, wife to the legendary photographer Helmut Newton.
In 2015, Szymon's works have been presented as a part of "Newton. Horvat. Brodziak" exhibition at the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin, which made Brodziak the youngest artist ever to be presented at this pretigious Museum of Photography.
