The SS Nornen was a Norwegian Barque, that in 1897 was washed up onto Berrow Beach, Somerset, UK, during heavy seas. There was a crew of 12 men, who were all rescued by local people but the boat could not be saved and it still lies on the beach. It is only exposed during a low tide and all that now remains is the wooden hull, covered in seaweed. Over a period of years I have visited Berrow to photograph the Nornen at all times of the year and different times of the day to build up a portfolio of images that show it in different guises.

Don Hooper is a multi international award winning photographer from Bristol, UK.

Don has gained success with his photography from working long and hard over a period of 40 years and travelling extensively around the world.

However, nowadays he prefers to stay close to his home address and visits places that are of an interest to him, whereby he is able to concentrate on a set theme or particular area.
