CELLO #2

  • Prize
  • Photographer
    Melanie-Jane FREY, France

From a series of 23 wet plate collodion tintypes 8x10 (20'
exposure). This is a tribute to the cello. The instrument remains
stationary and the musician is working around it, showing his
passion, his energy, his harmonies. We are invited to listen to
music with our eyes.
Chemistries of wet collodion cause all kinds of accidents with
which I play to evoke the waves of sound. Photos will follow like
steps on a partition that will not be disclosed in your imagination.

Melanie-Jane FREY is a French photographer based in Paris. She works with primitive, modern, alternative technics and experiments art in the intersection of photography and craft.
