Cyprus a silent crisis

In 2013, Cyprus entered the eye of this ongoing global economical storm. An immense
Cypriot debt appeared suddenly and led the government of this small country to take
immediate and cruel austerity measures. After days of hard negotiations, the Cypriot
government came to an agreement with its international lenders for the rescue of its
banking system. It was the first time in the history of the European Union that money from
the people's personal bank deposits where used for a government's purpose. Now the Cypriot
people does not seem to calm down as there are no signs of a clear future for their country.
