Origami

Born in Novosibirsk, Russia. Ekaterina started taking photographs and developing deep interest in photography while studying a Law degree. After moving to London in 2006 she gained her first formal photography education at University of the Arts London College of Communication. Origami is one of the series she is working on at the moment, using both, digital and analogue techniques. About the series: The art of origami was born in ancient Japan and its philosophy is linked to views and perceptions of the world of Dzen-Buddhizm. The process of creating an origami is illustrated by the Dzen-Buddhizms postulate that change is the only constant in life everything is transient. A piece of origami represents something whole, something indivisible and a symbol. This series is about showing the complex nature and fragility of origami also as a symbol of the world around us.
