Sundays

It is not uncommon in Hong Kong for a family to have a live-in domestic worker from Indonesia or The Philippines. These women get one day off a week, and since they don't have homes of their own, they must congregate outside to spend time together. Thousands of women fill up Hong Kong's outdoor areas on Sundays where they talk, eat and relax with one another. They express themselves through their fashion choices, religious customs, food and music. Their Sunday presence is a part of Hong Kong culture and a vivid expression of female companionship.

Liz started taking photos when she learned how to use a black and white darkroom in 9th grade. Since then she has taken photos of the streets of Brooklyn and the farms of South America; the borders of Asian countries and the housing developments of Texas; the fashion students of Hong Kong and the working class of the world. She is interested in telling the stories of the relatively unknown and strives to be a storyteller in all her endeavors.
