After the snow...

Trees, in their many forms, have provided inspiration for artists through the ages. I have used the Orton Effect and split-toning to manifest my personal vision and interpretation in a symphony of textures, patterns and light in order to convey the emotional reaction more directly.

My great adventure with photography began when my Grandma bought me a Kodak Instamatic when I was a small child. Since then, I have always been fascinated by the interaction of light with the landscape, in its myriad of different moods, where small but subtle changes can breathe atmosphere into my photographs. The majority of my shots are unplanned, and I prefer to respond intuitively to these constant changes in the luminosity of the landscape. I prefer to work with monochrome film as this provides a method of recording what I see in a simpler, but dramatic, form which leaves much to the imagination of the viewer.
