Sindoor is the mark of a married woman in India and an integral part of her everyday dressing and beauty ritual. It defines a married woman. In spite of the western influences in terms of dressing etc, a lot of Indian women still like to adhere to this traditional ritual. Sindoor is traditionally applied at the beginning or completely along the parting-line of a woman�¢ï¿½ï¿½s hair (also called mang) or as a dot on the forehead.
