From a series 'RELUCTANT sex workers'.
â??It is common that men beat and rape women. They believe conquer the world, conquer the women.â??
â??Last year my husband was killed by a hippo when he was fishing on the lake. My greatest fear is that my 6 children will never escape from the hammering poverty and are doomed to a world without dreams. My life is a series of monotonous chores repeated daily. This barren village exists in a cycle of suffocating boredom where alcohol and sex are the only pleasures. Men harass me all the time for sex and many beat and rape me if I refuse.â??
SARAH Faraha 32 years old, widow, 6 children, HIV/AIDS postive.
