The image survives because it never reveals whether the hand arrived to save me or claim me. Suspended between comfort and possession, protection and inheritance, the moment remains unresolved. Drawing on the emotional landscape of childhood grief, the work explores experiences that are felt before they can be named, understood, or carried into language.

David Miller FRSA is a UK-born visual artist working between the UK and Finland. Using AI-assisted image-making, staged photographic language, and digital post-production, he creates narrative works exploring memory, identity, ritual, and emotional ambiguity. Drawing on a background in filmmaking and scriptwriting, his images blend cinematic composition with psychological atmosphere. His recent series examine disappearance, childhood perception, and the unstable border between recollection and invention.
